value

Sunday, November 3, 2013 6:32:11 PM America/Los_Angeles

Our products aren't cheap, they're great value. That might sound like splitting hairs, but there really is a massive difference. The difference being that we cut out what you don't need and plough our energy into what you do.

We build up all our wheels in our factory. So there are no shop costs involved, plus you get to speak directly to the people building your actual bike.

We are a OEM company, produce and sale carbon wheels, frames and components. We also have the best possible relationships with our suppliers. The fact we design some really innovative and desirable products that get rave reviews means suppliers want to work with us. We get the freedom to fettle our designs while still getting best price and we pass those savings directly on to you. It also means we can spend more on development with our pro team and organisations.

If you've dealt with us before you'll also know that honesty is always our default policy. We've been doing this for several years because we stand by our customers and see them right.

How to install a carbon fiber seatpost

Wednesday, October 30, 2013 10:37:00 PM America/Los_Angeles

Carbon fiber debuted as the new exotic material in the racing bike scene in the 1990s. The first carbon fiber applications were for the bike frames as this new material was lightweight, durable and provided more forgiveness from bumps than aluminum.  Installing a carbon fiber seat post on your bike can reduce weight and requires only a little preparation.
1.Place a small piece of electrical tape on your bike's current seat post. Place the tape directly above where the seat post is exposed from the bike's frame. This ensures that your new seat is mounted at the same height as you are accustomed.
2. Use an allen wrench to undo the seat post binding bolt, or simply open the quick release lever to release the bolt's binding force.
3.Pull your old seat post out from the frame of your bicycle.
4.Use a rag and pipe cleaner to clean the interior of your frame's seat tube. You will want to clean out any remaining lube from your old seat post as carbon fiber is susceptible to degradation from most lubricants.
5.Place your new carbon fiber seat post directly next to your old seat post and place a small piece of electrical tape on the post marking how deep it should be inserted into your frame.
6. Insert your new carbon fiber seat tube into your frame until it meets the piece of electrical tape you are using as a height marker.
7.Tighten the seat post binding using either an allen wrench or by simply closing your quick release lever.
8.Use an allen wrench to listen to the seat binding clamp on your old seat post to remove the saddle from the post.
9.Place your saddle onto your new carbon fiber seat post and tighten the bolts down with an allen wrench. Do not tighten all the way as you will want to leave a little play in the fitting allowing you to level the saddle.
10.Place a level on your saddle and tweak it until it is level. You can just eyeball it, as well.
11.Tighten the seat clamp bolts down all the way.

An image explaining the data required for the spoke length calculator
Input in millimeters.
The comma as well as the point may be used as decimal-point.
Diameter of the circle through the spoke ends D=ERD mm
Diameter of the circle through the hub flange holes d mm
Distance hub flange - central plane of the wheel a mm
Number of spoke crossings k
Number of spokes n

mm

Diameter of the circle through the spoke ends (Effective Rim Diameter):
To find out, take two (old) spokes and shorten them to 250 mm (20'' wheel: 150 mm) by pinching off their heads. Screw the spokes into nipples until the spoke ends are flush with the grounds of the nipples' slits. Insert the two spokes into exactly opposite holes of the rim. The distance between the inside ends of the spokes (where the spoke heads have been pinched away), added with the lengths of the two spokes (2 * 250 mm or 2 * 150 mm, respectively), will amount to the sought diameter.

Diameter of the Hub Flange:
Diameter of the circle passing through the centers of the flange holes, since usually the spoke length is measured starting at the
"center line" of the spoke heads.

The central plane of the wheel
is usually situated in the middle between the dropouts of the frame or fork, respectively. This means, in the middle between
the outermost hub axle nuts (those touching the inside planes of the dropouts). And, for this reason, not necessarily
in the middle between the hub flanges (for instance: rear wheel hubs, or front wheel hubs for disc brakes).
